within.
Innocent Sacrifice
Weary from war
This barren land,
Cries for mercy
From God's hand.
Angel's blood
Stains the earth,
Demons clamor
Hungering for more.
Wasteland wanderers
Comb the night,
Searching for souls
For their sacrifice.
With maniacal glee,
Lust and desire,
Another innocent child
Is thrown onto the pyre.
Crimson Rain
Living a lie
Seeking truth
Needles pierce
Veins of youth
Open skies
Seal their tomb
Echoing silence
From the womb
Amid crimson rain
And drifting ash
This fleeting vapor
Fades into the past
Fractured Home
Light of hope
Buried beneath
Shattered halos
And broken wings.
Shadow of despair
Masters the night
With succubus' kiss
It seduces the mind
Love and hate
Have become the same
Bringing with them
Pleasurable pain
"Give in, let go."
The demon beckons.
"Hold firm, stand fast."
Say angels of heaven.
Heart is wounded
Weary and worn
From the war that rages
Within this fractured home.
Tides of Peace
Sand beneath toes,
I stand alone,
Waves crash in,
Felt in my soul.
Peace overcomes,
But cannot last,
Pain still remains,
As the wave sweeps past.
About the Author:
While I have been writing fictional short stories for years (which I plan on publishing a collection of soon), I have recently begun writing poetry as a way of dealing with some of the obstacles and trials that have arisen in my life. I thoroughly enjoy writing and I thank you for reading this collection of poems and sincerely hope that you have enjoyed them.
